Architecture and Culture, Part I

Sometimes it seems as though architectural and
community design unconsciously express cultural values.
Wait! Before you run off, rolling your eyes
at such academic claptrap,
I have a few examples.

1. Evergreen United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill, NC.
Built largely by the members themselves,
mostly earnest hardworking suburbanites.
The building, with its circular approach,
resembles nothing so much as a magnificent,
glorious – home on a cul-de-sac, which,
coincidentally? is the housing pinnacle around here.

Check KnitPurr Please

I’m not suggesting that anyone has any reason to check anyone’s blog to begin with, but on the off chance that someone has wandered by, I’m over here for the summer at Knit One, Purr Two   I’m going to start adding “real world” stuff there, not just knitting posts.  So . . . IYC, well, now you know!
